So, everyone has arrived for the 2nd week of the one snowboarding summer in Les Deux Alpes, France, at a scorching 27 degrees celsius its set to be a week of sunburn and shredding with a selection of the UK’s finest freestyle talent, including One Snowboarding regulars; Ollie Jackson, Gregor Samuels & Rowan Coultas. Everyone took it easy on the first day, just going for a cruise up the hill and getting aquatinted with the sick snow park, which has increased in size by a 1/3 since last year. To make the most of the sunshine, the afternoon consisted with a friendly volley ball session, BBQ and the world cup finals. It was an early night for everyone seeing as the it was a 6.30 am start in the morning.

Monday started with a pipe session in the morning and it was going off with Henry Shackleton throwing down a 900 in the true style of British Olympian Ben Kilner, in fact, it could more be described as the beginning of a 1080. Rowan Coultas stomped a FS 720 and Gregor Samules doing with some big crippler flips.

The pipe shuts at about 11 each morning, so it was over to the kickers and quarter pipe for the afternoon. With Aimee Fuller styling out some backside rodeos on the kicker and handplants on the quarter with the help of her slingshot team. To finish of the day, Dan Wakeham dropped in from, well, the top of the mountain, straight lining it past the kicker line and into the hip/quarter doing massive cripplers – showing the kids how it is done. With everyone tired and sun baked, it was back down the hill for another BBQ, splash in the pool and roll around the skate park.

Summer Camp
Posted by Nadine on Monday, June 7th, 2010So, it is under a month to the One snowboarding summer camps, being held in Les Deux Alpes. Two weeks of summer freestyle development camps from the 3rd – 17th July 2010 in Les Deux Alpes, France. Riders are invited to join us in training for either one or both weeks. For those of you who want to continue to push your riding, training in the summer is a great way to keep progressing on the tricks you have already learnt this winter, keep your legs strong, and have a head start next season.

Dan Wakeham & Dom Harington in Les Deux Alpes
Les Deux Alpes has been chosen for it’s excellent range of on and off hill activities. On the glacier, there is a huge park and back-to-back pipes where riders will have the chance to train alongside the UKs most talented riders, including the GB Freestyle Team. Afternoons in the town will consist of, football, volleyball, swimming, golf, mountain biking and tennis – along with some chilling in the jacuzzi and fun BBQ’s. Filming on the mountain each day, the one snowboarding coaches will be on hand to drive the progression of your riding to the highest levels. The soft summer landings and the forgiving pipe are really the ideal place to learn and perfect new tricks. The great summer vibe makes this a super fun holiday. Plenty of snowboarding and temperatures in the town reaching 30 degrees celcius. With great afternoon activities, there is never a shortage of things to do.
